Here's Mia!

This little girl just gets cuter and cuter! She almost doesn't look real in this photo.

Hurricane Ike

So for those of you who follow what's going on in our lives, we made it through Hurricane Ike.

Our power came back on 5 days after the Hurricane. Fortunately for us the weather was cool.

Many, many of our neighbors are still without power.

Andrew and his friend evacuated to Kingwood from Beaumont where there is still no power

7 days after the storm. Wednesday has been a good girl. Here is a photo of here hanging out on our couch.

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas
from the Family!

Another year has pssed since I last blogged. Lots has happened in our lives.

  • Mark is now working for Legends Healthcare as the Administrator. It's only 20 miles from the house and he loves that.
  • Forrest started middle school and he loves that! Biggest change for Forrest this year is that he is now old enough to wear contacts!
  • Cody has a job as a Young Life Leader in Frisco, TX close to where Rick and Brooke live.
  • Andrew is going to Lamar University and works for the University Press Newspaper.
  • And I am working for a center for children with autism called Including Kids, Inc.

So we are all doing well and happy. We have a new addition to the family - her name is Mia and she is a Yorkie born on November 5, 2007. (OK, I know th picture says 2006, but it has the wrong date).

Hope everyone has a happy and safe new year!

Life is a Treat!

Well if you like sweets it is! And who doesn't? This photo is of Forrest at a friends house for a crawfish boil. He liked the desserts better than the crawfish.

Summer was a bit of a bust his year, it rained most of the summer and we didn't get to do much.

Summer Is Over

It's been a while since we have posted. Summer is over and school has started.

Forrest is in the 6th grade, Cody has a new job, Andrew is going to college, I quit my job and Mark is at a new job as well.

I had foot surgery for a "pump bumb."

It has rained most of the summer so it's been hard to do anything.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Our family had quite a 2006! Andrew has gone back to school and we are so proud of him. He also has a new addition to his household - an African Servile. Her name is Wednesday and she looks like a mini Cheetah. Right now she is 15 lbs, but she will grow to about 35 lbs. She is quite a site to see.

Cody is still in school and very involved in the community where he lives. He is a Young Life Leader and just completed his second season with the Forth Worth Cats (Fort Worth's minor league baseball team). He just got back from a cruise with some of the guys from the team. They went to Cozumel and he also visited the Mayan Ruins.

Forrest has been busy in his school as well. He also has gone on a few camping trips with his cub scout troop and he is getting ready for the Pinewood Derby. He has a new interest in animal conservation and you will often find him on many websites related to that.

Mark is so happy at his job with Memorial Hermann. It's a great place to work and he really enjoys their philosophy. He too has been busy with scouts since this is his last year as Cub Master. He just put up his new boat for the winter and we all can't wait to get back on it again.

Speaking of Memorial Hermann, they are buying the hospital where Theresa works. Since they don't have a Hospice, the one where she works is going to be their pilot. New challenges and changes for her come with that and she is looking forward to the change. She is still making jewelry and really getting creative with that. It's really a lot of fun for her.

We all spent Christmas together and then Mark, Theresa and Forrest left for Oklahoma City with a short detour to Dallas to visit family there.

Spring Break In Dallas

Forrest and Theresa went to up to North Texas to visit family for Spring Break. Cody was off at he same time, so we took the opportunity to spent a little time with him and take advantange of his life on the farm in Argyle, Texas (just North of Fort Worth and Northwest of Dallas). While we were there Cody was sitting for some farm animals so we got to tag along to help. Boy THAT was an adventure!

The cows were just like cats or dogs, Cody was just a tad late feeding them because he was waiting on us. As soon as they saw him they started mooing their heads off as if to say they were hungry. We went over to feed the chickens first and as we did so, Cody pointed over to the pasture for me to see that the cows were already forming a line and heading to the stables to get ready to eat. Kind of made me feel bad that they were that smart and we eat them. But I got over it, I think we ate at Outback that very night.

Forrest got to feed the chickens and a new baby calf. A horse named Daisy took a liking to me and followed me everywhere so I could pet her. Then soon after that , this little burro followed me too. What a day on the farm it was. Just call me Ma Kettle!

Mike in Dallas

Back in the city, we had lunch with Michael and then went over to the abc radio station to take a little tour since Cody and Forrest never been there before. Forrest got to see where Radio Disney was broadcasted and Cody got to see some of the areas where production was done and meet some of the national DJ's. Of course, all big sister was interested in seeing was who Michael was dating. Actually, I have met her before and she's really nice!

Rick's Family

We had dinner with Rick, Brookie, Abby and Gannon at their new place in Frisco. The house was just gee-orr-jowss! I am so happy for them. Such a beautiful little family. Brooke's Mom is recovering well from her recent heart attack. Abby is still a Princess and Gannon put on quite a show for us. He was just a dancing for us to tunes from Beyonce' - did not show a shy bone in that little body. They played well with Forrest. Rick grilled burgers and we watched who was getting kicked off of American Idol. THANK GAWD they watched it too. I did know what I was going to do if they didn't! HA! I can't believe that I didn't take one picture of Rick's kid's. I have so many of them around the house and none of them with us in them. It was a great visit.

My Dad

Daddy was looking good! Forrest and I visited with him on our first day and took him lunch. He always calls us his Chongos - which means his Monkees. So when we were out and about during the week we found a monkey that made monkey sounds to give to him when we went back later in the week, he loved it. He said it looked just like Forrest!

Forrest and Friends

This is Forrest. Cute huh?

He is 9 years old and getting older by the minute. He is so shy, so this photo really was fun to get. Actually, he and one of his friends down the street were playing with our digital camera and I found these on the camera.

He and his friend Peyton are always doing something fun or goofy. From in-line skating to making mud pies. These two are thick as thieves.
